What is a secret sin? A secret sin is one of the worst sins. (Ep. 5:12) It is a repeated sin that someone does and tries to hid from the world. Yet, they can't hid it from God. (Je. 16:17 ) Why do people have secret sins? I think all people have secret sins to an extent. For some it is an addiction or something close to an addiction like a bad habit. For others, some people just can't give up sinful pleasures and act like a Christian, that's a dangerous game they play with God. (1 Chr. 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. ) I think some others aren't even aware of the spiritual danger they are in.
Strong Warning: (Is. 29:15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?) The thing is there is no security or peace with a secret sin. Whether a sin be in secret or out in the open, a sin is a sin, (Ja. 4:17) and is required to be punished. (Zep. 1:12 ) I don't know how many times "things went wrong" or just had "bad luck", but I knew within my heart, that God has punished me for my uncontrolled thoughts or words.(God's punishment Deut. 31:17) Plus there will always be a "held back" of reaching spiritual maturity. You might feel God in moments, but keeping that spiritual feeling with you always will fade. You will have to fight harder to stay spiritual strong. Sin separates you from God, and there is no other way around that. It can lead you into a reprobate mind.( Ro. 1:28 ) A reprobate mind is when you do a willful sin repeatedly, and God spirit leaves you. Going to hell with secret sins in your life is a real deal. 2 Th. 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Secret sins are not just one sin, they add up and multiply quickly. Is. 30:1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: Lying to cover up your secret sin. Not being sorry! Oh yea, ready for this hard hit of truth? If you have a secret sin in your life, it's because there is a pleasure in it, maybe a guilty pleasure, where you hate it that you enjoy it, but still a pleasure. And if you keep doing it, then a part of you is excusing it. Even if you consenting battling it, even it you try with all your might to stop, going to the altar, praying, fasting, but it keeps coming back into your life, then a part of you saids it's okay. Maybe 9 out of 10 times you say it's wrong, it's wrong, it's wrong. But that 10th time, but it's your 100 times of your 9 out of 10 times. Maybe later the guilt comes in like a crushing wave, but in that moment it was weakness. (Eze. 8:12) Another warning of God knows all Ro. 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. They carry the burden of being a hyprocrite if you aren't careful. Ho. 7:2
But here is the true scary thing, secret sins won't stay secret for long, it will come out. (Da. 2:22) I can't count the times my own tongue of gossip bite me in the butt so deserving I might add! (Nu. 32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.)(Lu. 12:2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.) These are only a few verses that give out this warning, but the bible from genesis to revelations is filled with this warning.
But HERES THE THING, A secret sin doesn't have to be your doom. You can beat it!! You just have to keep trying, keep God's conviction in your heart. Use God as your weapon against sin. Pray, Pray, Pray, take the next step up and go to the altar, try fasting, just don't give up. Even if you failed a thousand times, God knows your heart if you are trying. Going to church- Helps alot! Find you that church, that church that helps. Filled your time and your mind and your heart with things of God. Listen and sing gospel music, go to church, read the bible, pray without ceasing for others. Stay away from temptation, things that will trigger your secret sin. Last but not least, if you need too, get help!
Here are some verse helpers.
Philip. 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Ho. 12:6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on thy God continually.
1 Th. 5:19 Pray without ceasing
Ja. 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
I called this article Needed Awakening because in these last days, Christians has gone soft, we need to be bold again. To know who God is and what is and is not okay. Don't allow yourself to be tricked that sins are excusable if you repent. Yet, I also want you to know, that God knows our heart and our battles, and there is hope as long as you are breathing.
I chose this topic for a specific reason. There is a heaven and there is a hell. I tell people that a lot. However, there is more to it. God can give up on you before you die. This subject is only mention a very few times in the bible. The word reprobate is probably actually mentioned less then 10 times. Yet, if it is in the bible, it needs to be said. All Christians and sinners should be aware of this, reprobate mind. To first understand, reprobation, you must first understand that sin is wrong, yet more importantly, willful sins are dangerous to your soul. Willful sins are sins that your conscience tells you not to do but you intently disobey to have pleasure in sin. God can forgive you, but for that reason above, he may NOT because you did it against him on purpose. Maybe it's just one sin, maybe many, however he will put you in a reprobate mind. (Ro. 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. The bottom line is that God will turn against you.(Tit. 1:16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.)
See, if you choose to do evil, then not only will your soul be destroy but all the good works you do will be bad. Reprobate mind is a scary thing, it could mean no forgiveness, no hope. (God's punishment Lev. 26: 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: )You could be cursed like you have never known even to the people around you. (Deut. 28:But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.20 The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. ) These are only part of the curses listed, please keep reading chapter for more detail of God's punishments.
These four verses that explain reprobate mind the best are.
Ro. 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
2 Tim. 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Reprobate mind is a dangerous thing, you can be on that path of destruction and not realized it. Get back to God or else.
Deut. 31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?

From the Word: 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
From the Word: Amos 9: 2
Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down.
Meaning: People today, don't follow God's plan for us, they ignore him every way they can. They make their own rules, follow their own decisions without any thought of the true consequences that will follow. When people chose to sin willfully without God's warning, they are digging themselves into hell. At any time, God can remove his offer of salvation and forgivenss to them and sentence them to a reprobated mind to their own devices. This choice is God's not theirs. He can give you a million chances or give you one. It's your choice to accept it, but it's God who offers chances. Yet, there are also the self righteousness, where they think they are better then most and the rule and judge others taking God's place. They think they are the only ones who will make it to heaven, unless others believe exactly like them in every single detail of salvation. One difference of opinion and they will sentence you to hell. Yet they are not the judge and God will knock them down.
1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
16Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
20For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
1)Even if someone isn't as strong in spirit as you, you are suppose to receive them. Which means to support them and accept them in the church community, but do not make them doubt their Christianity.
2-3) This is an example, of what verse one is talking about.
4) We are no one's boss, our job is to be example by our actions and behaviors not to give orders of what we think a perfect person is. God is our judge and he will help lead and guide the ones who needs any improvement.
5-6)This is the example of how Gods sees our deeds. Those who get saved, all serve God differently. We all are trying to make it to heaven. All that matters is that we live right by obeying the word of God and shaming sin, and giving God praise and thanks.
7-9)This reestablishes that God is the one with the final say so. Christ died so that we can have escape and make it to heaven one day. God is the one who makes that decision by our lives record of whether we go to heaven or hell. We must live our life by God's standards and NOT man's man-made rules. Because if it was up to the world, everyone would go to hell for not being exactly like "them", and we would think that "we" were the only ones going to heaven because we are the only ones who got it right.
10-12)We all have sins, no one is perfect but Christ. So if we all have sins we have no right to judge anyone else. Every sin of every person will be known to God, no one will escape his judgement.
13)So, if we hinder someone else's walk with God with our judgements then we are the ones who are wrong and we will be held accountable.
14)The bible is a guide line for right and wrong, and the Lord gives us the wisdom to understand it. Before they get saved, people do as they pleased no aware of God's consequences. Once they get saved they see right and wrongs and will try a good effort to stay away from wrongs.
15) Do not put anyone down for not being perfect because Christ died for all even the sinners.
16) Do not let your reputation or your church reputation be the reason people don 't want to be saved.
17-19)Accept those who accept Christ because they have the same goal as you even if it is different then you.
20-23)If something is a sin to you, and you do it, it is a sin indeed. We are suppose to uplift each other, not be each other's hindering stones. If we have more faith to be stricter then others, then happy be us, and blessed be us. If someone is less strict then us, don't judge them and make them feel bad because they are happy in God and serving him too. Each person has their own work with God and must follow his commandments to the best of their ability. Your pushing for more "perfection" can push them away from God.We can confuse them, and if someone is confused they can make sinful choices by losting their faith. We must strive with everything we have to follow God, not someone's else ways.
